The history of Mastro de Paja begins in 1972, when Terenzio Cecchini and his friends founded a pipe workshop in Pesaro. It was a response to the increased presence of Danish pipes on the Italian market. He invited one of the masters of pipe making, Giancalr Guidi, to collaborate. Soon, Mastro de Paja became one of the most recognizable brands, signed with the symbol of the silver sun. In the early 1980s, after Guidie's departure, the studio fell into a crisis, from which Alberto Montini brought it out, introducing a new company policy. In the 1990s he finally bought the workshop from Cecchini. Mastro de Paja focuses on the manual production of pipes, combines high-quality materials and craftsmanship. The pipes are mainly made of briar wood and their style is called as neoclassical - the Pesaro school. Currently, Mastro de Paja pipes are very appreciated on the international market, mainly in the United States of America.
