Tournament Pipe – 20th „Kolebka” Slow Pipe Smoking Competition 2025

Kolebka is a unique Slow Pipe Smoking Competition that has been held for many years in Przemyśl, Poland, as part of the annual Pipe Festival. Every year, at the end of June, the city welcomes pipe enthusiasts and lovers of traditional pipe culture from Poland and abroad. Przemyśl is widely regarded as the capital of Polish pipe making, with a long-standing craft tradition, renowned pipe workshops, and the unique Museum of Bells and Pipes.

In 2025, the event celebrated the 20th edition of the „Kolebka” Slow Pipe Smoking Competition. The anniversary edition was dedicated to the American pipe-making tradition and the culture of pipe smoking in the United States. Alongside the competition and pipe fair, visitors could enjoy a pipe smokers' parade, a themed museum exhibition, the ceremonial lighting of the „Fajka Ławeczka”, and concerts held in Przemyśl's historic market square.

This distinctive model was handcrafted specifically for the 20th edition of the competition. Its unusual multi-part construction and combination of materials were inspired by the American pipe-making tradition. The decorated bowl was handcrafted from high-quality Italian briar. The shank is made of beech wood and finished with an aluminium ferrule, while the mouthpiece is made from genuine buffalo horn mounted on a metal tenon.

A larger number of pipes was originally produced for the competition, allowing every participant to compete with a dedicated tournament model. The pipes currently offered in our store are the last remaining pieces from this limited edition, making them a unique memento of the 20th „Kolebka” competition and an important event in the Polish pipe-smoking community.

The set includes a fabric pouch, an elegant presentation box, a signed pipe tamper, and a replica of an old American one-dollar banknote, referring to the theme of the anniversary edition.

The pipe does not feature a permanent filter system, but its construction allows the use of 9 mm absorbent filters.
