Careful care and hygiene of wooden pipes is the basis for tasty smoking and many years of use. Clean the smoke duct in the pipe and the stem after each smoking using a cleaning rod. A hygienic liquid will be good to dissolve dried deposits, do not use alcohol for this purpose (in certain cases, an exception may be high-proof spirit in small doses). Wipe the furnace regularly and after each use with a handkerchief wound around your finger, scraping the walls of the chamber with various tools is not recommended.
