CHACOM Select No. X BENT Pipe, Briar Flame Grain, France

Strict selection in terms of craftsmanship and the quality of the materials used – this is perhaps the simplest way to describe this model from the Select series by Chacom. However, this exceptional pipe deserves a more detailed introduction.

The pipe is made from Italian briar featuring Flame Grain, one of the most highly regarded grain patterns. Clearly defined, regular grain lines across the bowl and shank, combined with striking birdseye on the base, create a particularly attractive composition that beautifully highlights the natural character of the briar.

The design of this series allows for a maximum of three small natural inclusions, none of which require any intervention from the pipe maker. Particular attention has therefore been given to both the quality of the briar and its natural presentation. This particular pipe is available exclusively in the version shown in the photographs. Its surface has been finished in a satin, semi-matte tone, preserving the natural character of the briar without concealing its structure.

The pipe takes the classic Bent shape, with a tall, rounded bowl and a deep chamber. This construction provides generous capacity and comfortable access to the chamber, while the bent form makes it particularly pleasant for relaxed smoking, for example while reading a book. It can also be comfortably held in the mouth while performing small, light tasks.

The stem is made from distinctive Cumberland, whose decorative pattern complements the pipe's classic character beautifully. A reducer allows the use of either 9 mm or 3 mm filters. The construction also allows the pipe to be smoked with a condenser or completely without a filter, depending on the smoker's preferred setup.

This model is no longer available from the manufacturer as part of its regular range. Only one piece remains at BrogShop, precisely the one shown in the photographs. In addition to its practical value as a smoking pipe, it therefore also has the character of a collector's piece, particularly appealing to enthusiasts looking for older, highly selected Chacom models.
