Description
The French Pipe No. 1 Sablée Noir is a handcrafted briar pipe in a classic shape. Finished in deep black with a sandblasted bowl and a contrasting blue-and-white ring, it evokes the timeless “marinière” pattern — an emblem of French elegance. This motif is also featured on the fabric pouch, the box, and the included long matches.
The set also includes a pipe tool, a catalog of all models in the series, and a beginner's guide.
Despite its compact size, the pipe offers a surprisingly generous bowl. The chamber is lightly pre-carbonized and, like all new pipes, requires careful breaking in during initial use.
The mouthpiece is made of acrylic and fits standard 6 mm absorbent filters.

Made with love in the French Jura Mountains
The French Pipe is crafted at the Chapuis-Comoy & Cie workshops near Saint-Claude — the birthplace of the briar pipe — by a team of passionate artisans who preserve traditional pipemaking techniques.
This lightweight briar pipe is designed for use with 6 mm balsa filters. These can also be replaced with standard charcoal or meerschaum-filled filters.
