Description

A unique pipe, entirely handcrafted from a large block of premium meerschaum by skilled artisans in Turkey.
Its distinct character is highlighted by a rich, intricate pattern, carved in the traditional openwork style. Model DM85.1 is fitted with a black acrylic stem and does not accommodate a filter. While the pipe impresses with its striking appearance in person, it is also fully functional and serves its primary purpose exceptionally well. When smoked properly, it delivers a dry, cool smoke that offers a particularly pleasant and full-flavored experience. Despite its substantial weight, it sits well in the hand and remains comfortable for regular use.

Each pipe comes with a specially fitted case, lined with soft fabric to ensure safe storage and convenient transport. Every piece is 100% handmade, making it truly one of a kind. This set makes an ideal gift for a collector or a refined addition to your personal collection.

To maintain its properties and longevity, the pipe should be cleaned regularly to prevent buildup of residue. Tobacco should be smoked slowly, evenly, and no more than once a day. Although meerschaum is highly resistant to burning, it should not be subjected to excessive heat. Proper care will ensure excellent smoking experiences for years to come.

Meerschaum pipes are renowned for their exceptional craftsmanship and outstanding smoking qualities.
The production of a meerschaum pipe involves several carefully executed stages—from raw material extraction to final polishing. Below is a detailed description of the process:

Meerschaum Extraction
Meerschaum, a soft and porous mineral, is primarily extracted in Turkey. The raw blocks are sourced from deep underground deposits and carefully transported to workshops for further processing.

Selection and Drying
Once extracted, the meerschaum blocks are sorted based on quality and size.

Carving the Pipe Shape
Skilled artisans hand-carve each pipe using chisels and knives. This stage requires great precision, as meerschaum allows for highly detailed patterns and ornamentation. The bowl, shank, and stem socket are shaped according to the intended design.

Drilling and Fitting
After shaping, an airway is drilled to ensure smooth airflow. A tenon is then fitted into the shank, and the stem—made of acrylic, amber, or other materials—is precisely matched.

Sanding and Smoothing
The carved pipe is carefully sanded to achieve a smooth finish. Various grades of sandpaper are used to eliminate imperfections and create an even surface.

Waxing and Polishing
To enhance durability and appearance, the pipe is coated with natural beeswax. This gives it a glossy finish and allows it to develop a beautiful patina over time.

Final Quality Control and Assembly
Each finished pipe undergoes a thorough quality inspection to ensure it meets high standards. Once approved, the stem is securely attached and the pipe is ready for sale or use.

Meerschaum pipes are prized for their lightness, cool smoke, and the elegant patina they develop over time. The high level of craftsmanship makes each one a true work of art.
