Description
A Turkish pipe in the classic bent apple shape, handcrafted from a solid block of meerschaum and finished with an acrylic stem. It was made in the family-owned Dulger Meerschaum workshop, renowned worldwide for its extensive experience and craftsmanship. The DM82 model stands out with its practical size and distinctive, contrasting appearance. The bowl has a standard capacity, and when smoked properly, it delivers a dry, cool smoke that ensures deep and satisfying flavor experiences. This pipe is perfect for daily use, while also making an elegant gift for any pipe enthusiast. The yellow mosaic-patterned stem does not accommodate a filter.
Each pipe comes with a custom-fitted case, lined with soft fabric to ensure safe storage and comfortable transportation. Every piece is completely handmade, making each pipe a unique item. The set is an ideal gift for a collector or a refined addition to a personal collection.
To preserve the pipe’s qualities and ensure its longevity, regular cleaning is recommended to prevent cake buildup. Tobacco should be smoked slowly, evenly, and no more than once a day. While meerschaum is heat-resistant, it should not be overheated. Proper maintenance guarantees excellent flavor over time.

Meerschaum pipes are known for their exceptional craftsmanship and superior smoking qualities. The creation of a meerschaum pipe involves several carefully executed stages—from mining the raw material to the final polish. Below is a detailed overview of the production process:
Meerschaum extraction
Meerschaum, a soft and porous mineral, is primarily mined in Turkey. It is extracted from deep underground deposits and carefully transported to workshops for further processing.
Selection and drying
Once extracted, the blocks of meerschaum are sorted by quality and size.
Carving the pipe shape
Skilled artisans hand-carve each pipe using chisels and knives. This step requires great precision, as meerschaum allows for the creation of intricate patterns and fine details. The bowl, shank, and stem connection are shaped according to the intended design.
Drilling and fitting
Once shaped, the smoke channel is drilled to ensure smooth airflow. A tenon is then inserted into the shank, to which the mouthpiece—made from acrylic, amber, or other materials—is fitted.
Sanding and smoothing
The carved pipe is carefully sanded to achieve a smooth surface. Various grades of sandpaper are used to create a flawless finish and remove imperfections.
Waxing and polishing
To enhance durability and aesthetics, the pipe is coated with natural beeswax. This step gives the pipe a glossy finish and allows it to develop a beautiful patina over time.
Final quality check and assembly
The finished pipe undergoes quality control to ensure there are no defects. Once approved, the mouthpiece is attached, and the pipe is ready for sale or use.
Meerschaum pipes are valued for their light weight, cool smoke, and the elegant patina they develop with time. The high level of craftsmanship involved makes each piece a true work of art.
