Description

An original pipe crafted in the workshop of Ryszard Filar — one of the most distinguished Polish pipe makers and a student of Ludwik Walat. This particular piece is not stamped with a serial number; however, based on expert assessment, it can be identified as an early example of model 122, distinguished by a large briar dot on the stem. It stands as an authentic testament to the maker’s craftsmanship and distinctive artistic style.

The pipe is handmade from briar and features an uncommon and refined shape, with an oval shank and a bowl base subtly undercut on both sides. Estimated to be around 40 years old and never used, this piece retains its pristine condition, emphasizing its collectible nature and the high level of craftsmanship characteristic of its era.

The model is fitted with a saddle-style ebonite stem designed to accommodate a condenser. The pre-carbonized bowl allows for an easy start in use.

As Ryszard Filar has retired from professional pipe-making, the available pieces are among the last ever created and will not be reproduced. This makes it a truly exceptional offering for collectors and enthusiasts of traditional pipe craftsmanship.

*The pipe does not include the original manufacturer’s packaging.
