Description
An original pipe crafted in the workshop of Ryszard Filar — one of the most important figures in Polish pipe making and a student of Ludwik Walat. This piece, marked with serial number 53, is an authentic example of his craftsmanship and individual style. According to available knowledge, it represents one of the first models developed independently by Filar, following earlier collaborations with Walat and Kulpiński.
The pipe is handcrafted from quality briar in a classic shape and remains in very good condition. The precision of workmanship and attention to detail highlight its artisanal and collectible character, typical of the period in which it was made.
It features an oval ebonite stem fitted with a condenser — a solution commonly used during the peak years of the maker’s workshop. Its balanced proportions and spacious, pre-carbonized bowl make it well suited for longer, relaxed smoking sessions.
Due to the retirement of Ryszard Filar, the pieces available in this series are among the last remaining examples and will not be produced again. This makes it a unique offering for collectors and enthusiasts of traditional pipe craftsmanship.
The pipe does not include the original manufacturer’s packaging.
